New Audio Fading Feature

This new feature allows you to add fading to your audio clips with a single click. Now you can gradually fade your audio clips in and out on your videos. No more abrupt sound transitions!

HOW TO ADD AUDIO FADING

Select the audio clip in the video timeline, and then click “Volume” and then “Add Fading.”

When you “Add Fading” to an audio clip, a default value is assigned for the duration and volume level of the fade effect, based on the type of audio clip you are using.

Here’s a breakdown of the default values assigned to each type of audio clip in Vyond:

So a Voiceover audio clip will fade in starting at 0% and gradually increase to the set volume level over the course of 0.5 seconds. And it will fade out from the set volume level to 0% in the last 0.5 seconds. (Note: the default volume level is set to 100%, but can be changed in the Advanced Settings menu, which is mentioned later in the post.)

This means if you have a Voiceover clip set to 100% volume it will fade in from 0% volume to 100% in 0.5 seconds and then fade out by reducing the sound from 100% to 0% in the last 0.5 seconds.

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE AUDIO FADING

You can also customize the volume levels and the time it takes for an audio clip to fade in or out by clicking on the audio clip in the timeline, selecting Volume and then “Advanced Settings.”

In the Advanced Settings menu, you can change the volume levels at which the audio clip will start and end, select the duration of the fade in/out effect, and “Play” the audio clip as you test out different settings.

ADVANCED SETTING MENU OPTIONS

  • Begin at: This is the volume at which the audio clip will start. So if it’s set to 0% then the audio clip will fade in from 0% to the Constant Level.

  • Constant Level: The Constant Level is the highest volume level that the audio clip will play at. So if it’s set to 100% then the audio clip will fade in from your “Begin at” volume level and increase to 100%. It will subsequently fade out from 100% to the “End at” volume level

  • End at: This is the volume that the audio clip will end at. So if it’s set to 0% then the audio clip will fade out from the Constant Level to 0%

  • Duration: The duration is the time it takes for the audio clip to fade in / out

You can also see how long it takes for an audio clip to fade in / out on the waveform of the audio clip

The fading in / out effect is indicated by a white dashed line on the waveform, which will change based on the duration of fading you have set in the Advanced Settings menu.

SUMMARY

  • Add Fading In/Out effect to your audio clips

  • Use the Advanced Settings menu to change the duration / volume of the audio clip and fading effect

  • Listen to the playback of the fading before you finalize it

  • Reference the white-dashed line to see when the audio clip fades in and out
